This Week on the Balcony: Boxset on Sale, Writing Updates, More Writing...
Seer Wars Season 01: A New Earth is on sale, and getting closer to finishing book #1 of the brand new series, Bones and Shadows 📚🖤🐦🔥
Hey, writing balcony friends!
Before I get into anything else, I’m doing another big sale this week, as part of a BookBub featured deal… the entire first season of Seer Wars is on sale (normally $9.99) for only $0.99, starting last night and going for a full week. So, yeah, if you’ve been curious about this series, or maybe grabbed the free copy of Part I last week, here’s a chance to grab the entire first season, Parts I-III (full-length, longish novels) all in one place. :)
I made sure to apply the discount to every country, too, so it should be available for the discounted price in Europe, and every other country where Amazon books are sold.
To grab yours, click the image below, or there’s a button after the series description below the image. :)
Book Description ~
The first three novels in the apocalyptic, romantic, science fantasy series, SEER WARS. River Cleopatra Jones, Hollywood stuntwoman and psychic, gets pulled into an intergalactic and inter-dimensional war between light and dark, good and evil, thanks to highly-trained seer, Valek––a pirate, soldier, prince, and warrior on one side of the war, and River’s intractable kidnapper, sometimes protector, and mostly infuriating enemy.
Enemies to lovers. Forced proximity. Fated mates from past lives. Inter-dimensional portals and multiple worlds. Dark romance. Betrayal, lots of plot twists and turns. Space opera partly set on a world very much like ours.
**Note: this series was originally written as a serial and therefore has a lot of the structural quirks of a serial in terms of cliffhangers and longer arcs. Individual parts end in cliffhangers. Season 02 is currently being written and will be released as a collection upon completion.
Includes the following books:
SEER WARS SEASON ONE: A New Earth (Part I)
SEER WARS SEASON ONE: A New Earth (Part II)
SEER WARS SEASON ONE: A New Earth (Part III)
SEER WARS is an epic, romantic, gritty science fantasy series that started off as a serial and now is being released as a series of novels. Abandoned in Los Angeles as a weapon for a future inter-dimensional war, River Cleopatra Jones never knew her true identity until she got abducted by seer, ex-soldier, and pirate, Valek Targen. But Valek has his own dark secrets, and a much deeper connection to River and her purpose than either of them know. Apocalyptic science fiction, enemies to lovers, forced proximity, slow-burn science fantasy with romance for people who like complex, character-driven sci-fi with a strong romantic subplot.
In other news, well, it’s been a lot this past week, most of it good, but a lot of busy stuff around the house, which has been distracting.
I got it into my head that I needed to replace the cherry tree that died, so bought a brand new, lovely one, and set about to dig the old one out, and happened upon a big slab of concrete stuck in the dirt right by the old tree. I managed to dig around and jam a crowbar under that sucker, but it was too big for me to lift on my own. So I bribed my nephew to come over and do it for me (which luckily, he and his sister were able to do in about five minutes flat), and planted the new tree, along with another tree, a Mandarin orange. That same day, we had a fire down the street, and someone hit an electrical pole (knocking down three) and we lost power for five hours, and the watering system got all messed up. 🤣
So… still working on fixing some of that, since it unearthed a minor electrical issue, but most everything got done over the last three days.

That said, every morning at around 4:30-5:00AM, I’m up and working on my new novel. I’m still building my new world for the series, and well into the action of the first book, so that’s been exciting! I’m also doing a fair bit of research, on everything from Ancient Egyptian religion to castles in England to mythological beasts (I’ve built my own electronic reference book, including images, for that last part alone, lol).
There was definitely a point last week where the floodgates sort of opened on ideas for the series and the characters (coinciding with me starting to meditate regularly again… go figure), so now it’s a matter of not letting myself get too distracted so I can get everything down that I want to get down.
I hope people like this new project, though, because I’m really enjoying writing it! I’ve also commissioned three different art pieces for it already, with three different artists, so I’m excited to see the results of those, too! I’ll be sharing more on here when those start to get finished.
And for those of you waiting for the next JC Andrijeski book, the new Angels In L.A. novel is next on my writing schedule, with the next Quentin Black Mystery book to follow after! I’m still hoping to launch a new JC Andrijeski series this year, as well, but it might not be until Winter 2026, depending on how the other books go.
And yes, I know I’m way behind on paperback books and audio, but hoping to play catch-up with those, too, when I get this new series launched, and some of the home-front stuff squared away.
In the meantime, hope all is well in your worlds!
And check out below for a few more treats…
My latest release ~
Briefly, he considered just running. He considered making a dash for the dimensional door. But he couldn’t do that. It was already too late.
The exciting conclusion to the Vampire Detective Midnight series!
Nick stood mere feet from the portal when the racial authorities descended. He stood mere feet from the dimensional door that should have taken him and his family away for good. He’d been close enough to touch it, close enough to feel it.
But it all got snatched away.
Now he’s back working the streets as a Midnight, a vampire owned by the human police. His bosses definitely grip his leash tighter since his near-escape, and tensions between vampires and humans ratchet higher all over the city. Hints of another race war are getting louder, but still, all Nick wants is to go home.
He’s investigating a double homicide at the edges of the vampire ghetto when a series of events make it clear things are changing far faster than he realized. War is coming, and Nick’s starting to remember his past, a past he did everything in his power to forget.
Can he outrun a world that wants to annihilate everyone he loves?
Can he make it back to his own world and the people he left behind?

Books from friends ~
So she didn’t ask me to do this, but I really enjoyed this first book of my friend, May Sage’s, new series, To the Cruel Gods, so wanted to share it on here, since the ebook just came out. This is the same series connected to the Kickstarter of hers I shared last week. I read the book since that started, and really loved it, so here it is for others to enjoy if they wish! :)
Book Description from the sales page ~
I didn’t think I’d ever see her again, then she barged into my life and shattered it. Kleos disregards every rule, all common sense that dictates she shouldn’t trust me. I’m a dark sorcerer, comfortable with murder, torture, and not entirely opposed to world domination. She’s the sweetheart of Highvale. We make no sense.
I can’t say I care.
Our city. Our families. Our entire world.
It doesn’t matter what I’ll have to destroy to keep her.
They told her I was bad news from the start.
She should have listened.
A sensual, dark, steamy paranormal romance in a world where everything that goes bump in the night exists, To the Cruel Gods is unsuitable for sensitive readers.
FREE BOOK OF THE MONTH!
As a special treat in 2025, I’m going to be featuring a free book every month for the next twelve months, from an author friend. Here is this month’s free book!
Brand was raised to rule the Broods of Fenrir, but he’s shunned his destiny for decades, repelled by the brutality and discord within the wolf shifter society. But when a grisly murder stains the streets of Denver and one of the brood is implicated, he’s dragged right back into the heart of the passion he’s been desperate to avoid.
While investigating the murder, the disappearance of shifters in the local area, and a strange red wolf that stalks the shadows of the winter nights, he encounters the one thing that might finally bring him to his knees—and she has silver eyes.
With this new tempting distraction and the full moon approaching, unraveling the mysteries before him becomes more treacherous when the friend Brand swore to protect vanishes, and an old enemy is to blame. Challenging this particular foe will draw the attention of the most powerful of his kind and paint a target on the back of the woman he’s falling for.
As danger threatens those he cares for most, he’s faced with an impossible choice. Will he take up the throne he once denied or watch his world spiral further into chaos?
Broods of Fenrir is the first book of a gripping saga that delves into betrayal, redemption, and the primal forces that bind us all. Prepare to be enthralled by a world where loyalties are tested, and the fine line between humanity and savagery blurs.
And, as always, I appreciate you all so much! Thanks so much for reading my books and supporting my writing ~ I can’t tell you how much it means to me!
